‘Ding!’
The bell sounded, signaling a customer entering the quaint little café. It was a hidden gem in the heart of the city.
Chinen Yuri just arrived, hair disheveled, eyes covered by sunglasses. He was wearing black long sleeves paired with white pants. He folded his umbrella as he entered the establishment, taking shelter from the downpour outside.
It’s still pretty early, around nine in the morning but the overcast makes one think it is almost evening. He chose to sit in the corner by the window, their favorite spot in this café.
“Ryosuke!” Chinen waved as the older member entered the establishment.
“Shhh, baka!” Yamada hurriedly went to the spot the younger was occupying, panicking at the thought that they’ll be stampeded by fangirls in the establishment.
Chinen can’t help but burst out in laughter.
“No one’s here! Or at least, no one who cares.” He stated matter-of-factly.
Yamada looked around to see that he was right. The place was mostly deserted, except for a few foreigners who probably have no idea who they are. Or if they did, probably didn’t care.
“I’m liking this place already. No one will bother us.” Yamada commented as he planted a peck on the cheek on to the younger one.
Chinen Yuri can’t help but blush furiously.
“Here’s your hot double chocolate with marshmallows, Chinen-kun. It’s pouring pretty hard out there huh?” The friendly owner of the café, Hana, commented as she settled down his order.
“Thanks Hanacchi. It was hell out there.” Chinen smiled bitterly.
“I’m so glad to see you, it’s been a while since you dropped by.” And rare for you to come here alone. Hana thought but refrained from adding, biting her tongue from mentioning the absence of a certain someone.
“Yup, I never imagined it too but here we are.”
“Is that book really that interesting?”
Yamada put down the book he was reading to look at the younger boy in front of him. They were hanging out at the café in their casual clothes.
“Yes.”
“More interesting than me?” Chinen pouted.
“Of course not.” Yamada laughed while pinching the other’s cheeks.
“Hey Yutti, what’s up?” Chinen greeted as he picked up the phone. He’s alone now, waiting eagerly for his beloved ichigo-baka on a Saturday afternoon.
“What do you mean? How, where-“ More noise can be heard from the other line of the phone. Chinen’s eyes are panicked now, he was gathering his things in a rush using one hand and holding the phone in the other.
“Yes, I’ll be there. Thanks Yutti.”
And with that Chinen Yuri hurriedly left the café, and if one was to observe closely, one can see his eyes close to tears.
Chinen barely slept, and even if he did, it was all full of nightmares that leave him tired rather than rested.
The boy across the room is still unmoving with weird machines connected to his body, sounds echoing in the room to signal that he’s still somehow alive.
Chinen has been restless the days following the accident. Yamada has been hit by a speeder, and has been in a critical condition. After three days in the ICU, he was cleared to be put in a regular room. It has been a month now but there’s still no signs of the boy gaining consciousness.
‘Please, whatever God there is who can hear me, I’d give anything for him to be back to normal.’
Dear.

It has been three months following the accident. Chinen almost exhausted himself out by taking on jobs for the group by day and going to the hospital at night. It’s showing on the youngest member’s physique, he became thinner, his cheeks have hallowed and one can also see the dark bags under his eyes.
Chinen was sleeping at Yamada’s bedside when he felt someone reach out for his hand. At first he paid it no mind, but whoever it was shook him a bit to wake him up.
Finally stirring, he awoke to finally see the older one with his eyes open. At this point, Chinen was already tearing up when he heard the latter speak.
“Who… are you?”
“Chii, practice is starting, let’s go~” Takaki called.
“Yup, I’ll be there!” The acrobat of the group replied.
It’s been a month now after Yamada left for the United States. His parents insisted in him getting the treatment from one of the best doctors abroad, considering his amnesia. Yamada’s parents checks in with him from time to time for updates on his condition. He can apparently recall his family now, but beyond that, it was still blank.
Chinen decided to do his part for the group, he figured it’s what he can do best while waiting for his lover to come back.
Chinen was waiting impatiently at Narita International Airport. It’s been half a year, and he can’t bear a few more minutes with Yamada gone. He saw that their flight has already landed an hour ago.
‘What’s taking him so long?’
Finally, he saw him out of those gates, his complexion infinite times better than those horrible days he spent lifeless at the hospital. Yamada has been smiling brightly too, no trace of the accident left on his face.
Chinen was about to run to Yamada when he noticed there was somebody else with him. Specifically, a girl.
Chinen was left there in shock when they lean in for a kiss.
Chinen decided to bury himself in work. More work for him means less time to think.
Because the more time he has for himself, the more he spends time crying and drinking.
And sometimes, he would even think of dying.
“Chinen-kun, are you okay?”
Chinen was snapped out of his reverie when he heard the owner talk to him, eyebrows furrowed in worry.
“Yup, yup I’m okay. I think.” Chinen plastered with a fake smile on his lips. The owner, seemingly unconvinced, was about to add more when Chinen’s phone rang.
“Daiki? Yup, I’m on my way there.”
“Yup, see you then.” Chinen dropped the call and turned to Hana.
“Hanacchi, here’s my payment. I’m not sure though when will be the next time I’ll come back.”
And with that, Chinen Yuri left. He took a cab to a church somewhere in Tokyo, away from prying eyes.
On the way there, Chinen was just left staring by the window.
“Best man, huh?”
“Congrats Ryosuke!”
It took all of Chinen’s willpower to smile at Yamada, the man he loves.
Now with someone else.

Welp, it's been a while since I last wrote a fic. This is a result from frustration of lack of YamaChii fics lately. OTL
